coffee in soap
Soaper:
Darlene ("Flash")
Recipe:
I use pomace olive oil but it does not seem to discolor. The soap on the right in picture is the same recipe but without colorant or scent.
Method:
CP
Amount:
0.4 oz in 32 oz of oils (1 Tbs. ppo)
When added:
Added fresh coffee grounds to lye solution approx. 2 minutes before adding lye solution to oils.
Other:
Gray greenish. Used Folgers French Roast coffee grounds. Ground finer in a coffee mill. Waited for lye to cool (didn’t take temps but was probably ~105’F). Added coffee grounds to lye solution a few minutes before adding (grounds & all) to oils. It smelled like fresh brewed coffee instead of burnt coffee. Proceeded as usual. Insulated with towels for gel. Picture taken 9 days after soaping.
